What you’ll do at Ather:
Demonstrate strict adherence to corporate values and departmental procedures per QS standards, supporting the Process Excellence team during internal and QS Audits.
Conceptualize product differentiators through competitor benchmarking and drive platform reuse to optimize Time-to-Market (TTM), cost, and quality.
Ensure compliance with design checklists and templates during all review phases, including Design/Simulation, Schematic, PCB Layout, WCA, Tolerance Analyses, and Safety/Regulatory checks.
Execute detailed Design Calculations, Worst Case Analysis (WCA), and Tolerance Analyses to meet system specifications.
Minimize component diversity while adhering to corporate guidelines on DFM, DFA, DFC, DFS, and DFR.
Proactively manage technical risks by leading DFMEA reviews to screen defects and implement controls to reduce RPN.
Manage resource allocation and team bandwidth effectively to ensure critical project milestones are met without compromising on design quality.
Prepare, review, and execute Engineering DVT plans, ensuring robust debugging and resolution of JIRA issues with appropriate RCA reports.
Technically coach and mentor the development team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and psychological safety where team members feel empowered to voice ideas and admit mistakes early.
Conduct regular 1:1s and performance reviews, providing timely, constructive feedback to align individual contributions with departmental OKRs.
Define clear career development paths for team members, identifying skill gaps and curating training plans to upskill the team in emerging technologies.
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on field failures, approving RCA reports and driving CAPA implementation, while supporting NPD with RCA/CAPA during PPAP builds.
Coordinate with the HAT team on DVT planning and represent the team during PVL reviews to resolve integration issues.
Collaborate with NPD and Operations teams to contribute to PFMEA discussions and work with Swimlane/Software teams to define manufacturing test plans and enhance yield.
Engage with suppliers and internal peer groups to share best practices and drive innovation.

Expert Level (E):
Battery Management System (BMS) Design, Analysis, and Specifications.
Analog Front End (AFE) Application Design & Analysis.
Analog Circuit & Digital System Design; Current sensors and precision amplifiers.
Advanced Level (A):
Li-Ion Battery Construction, Safety Standards, Testing methodologies, and Lifecycle analysis (Calendar/Cycle/Service life).
Engineering DVT, Thermal Testing, Safety & Regulatory Pre-Compliance Testing.
Troubleshooting of BMS, Analog, and Digital Circuits.
Methodologies: DFMEA, AFMEA, PFMEA, DFM, DFA, DFC, DFR, DFS.
Semiconductor Device Characteristics (MOSFETs, IGBTs, AFE ICs, LDOs, Switching Regulators) and Passives (Capacitors, NTC, PTC, Relays, Contactors).
PCB Layout Design, Power Architecture, Signal Conditioning Circuit design & Analysis.
Basic Level (B):
Algorithms: Pb-Acid/Li-Ion Battery Charging Algorithms.
Standards: Global Safety (UL/VDE/IEC/BIS/CCC) & Regulatory Standards (IEC/EN); ISO 9001-15/QS9000 Quality Systems.
Processes: Project Management (PMP/Agile), Six Sigma, Technical Risk Management, EMI/EMC, ESD Compliance standards; Component and PCBA Handling..
Reliability: MIL217F/BELLCORE Reliability Standards.
Familiar Level (F):
Embedded Design for BMS.
Design Thinking, Thermal Analysis, and Environmental Standards.
