Mech Design Engr

Key Position Accountabilities:

Rotatory / Static Equipments / Piping Engg / Drafter / Metallurgist

Preparation and understanding of UOP’s Basic Mechanical engineering design package and detail design of propriety internals for the technologies that are supported by UOP ( Sch A design)
Coordinating and providing support for any customer queries and its resolution.
Liaising internally with other discipline engineers and departments including Procurement (BUYER).
The engineer will be assigned as a team member to multiple contracts at any given point in time. She/ he will be the prime internal technical contact for all matters related to Pressure vessels, Heat Exchangers, Tanks and other static equipment on those contracts. She/ he shall closely collaborate with the other team members from disciplines such as Process, Piping, Mechanical, CAD-design and Project Management.
Design and detail engineering of pressure vessels / heat exchangers /Tanks as per international codes such as ASME/API
Following-up on static equipment fabrication, including inspection and testing at suppliers’ shops.
Perform basic engineering design including Piping Review, selection of PMS, line list, piping specification preparation and mark up on Project PIDs.
Determination of flange class rating and calculation of pipe wall thickness.
Knowledge of various piping components and material including familiarity in identifying pipe class break.
Knowledge of various codes i.e, ASME B31.3, B16.5, B16.47, B16.34 along with API, ASTM & NACE Standards.
Co-ordination with back checker, design engineer & Project engineer to resolve the piping related project queries.

BE or equivalent degree in Mechanical 4-15 years of experience in the engineering field with majority in Refining and/or Petrochemical Technologies (Design, Service, Operations, Sales or Development).

Additional Qualifications for the Position: Field experience in Refining and/or Petrochemical Technologies; Familiarization with UOP engineering work processes, demonstrated excellent technical skills, communication, and interpersonal skills.
