The role supports EV performance validation, range and energy consumption testing, drivability assessment, and regulatory compliance by executing controlled dynamometer tests, managing high-voltage (HV) safety, and ensuring high-quality data collection.
Key Responsibilities-
Operate chassis dynamometer systems for electric vehicles to conduct performance, range, energy efficiency, regenerative braking, and drivability tests
Prepare EVs for testing, including vehicle inspection, wheel strapping, instrumentation, and setup of cooling and ventilation systems
Follow high-voltage (HV) safety procedures, lockout/tagout processes, and EV-specific safety protocols
Execute test cycles such as WLTP, IDC,MIDC, range, coast-down correlation, and customer-specific drive cycles
Monitor vehicle behavior, battery state of charge (SOC), temperatures, and system warnings during dyno runs
Test as per AIS-039,AIS-040, AIS-041 standards.
Support inverter, motor, and vehicle-level calibration and validation activities
Collect, validate, and document test data related to power, torque, energy consumption (Wh/km), efficiency, and thermal behavior
Perform basic troubleshooting of vehicle, dyno, and data acquisition issues
Assist with routine maintenance, calibration, and health checks of dyno systems
Maintain accurate test logs, reports, and documentation
Ensure compliance with EHS, electrical safety, and laboratory standards
Required Qualifications-
Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Automotive Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
Hands-on experience with chassis dynamometer testing (EV must)
Knowledge of electric powertrains, including motors, inverters, batteries, and regenerative braking systems
Understanding of high-voltage safety principles and EV safety standards
Ability to follow detailed test procedures and safety instructions
Experience in years: 5 Years
Preferred knowledge-
Experience with EV-specific test standards (WLTP EV, EPA EV cycles, range and energy consumption testing)
HV certification or EV safety training (e.g., ISO 6469, IEC standards, OEM HV levels)
Familiarity with CAN, vehicle diagnostics, and data acquisition tools
Experience working in EV R&D, OEM, or Tier-1 supplier test environments
Skills & Competencies-
Strong safety mindset, especially regarding high-voltage systems
High attention to detail and data accuracy
Ability to identify abnormal vehicle or test behaviors
Good communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and in team-based test programs
Working Conditions-
