6–10 years of experience in power electronics hardware design (automotive/industrial preferred).
Exposure to the automotive product development lifecycle is a plus.
Pune
Role Purpose
Design, develop, and validate electronic hardware for inverters, e-motors, e-axles, and on-board chargers in electric vehicles. The role requires expertise in power electronics design, PCB layout, and knowledge of automotive standards and reliability requirements. Additionally, the role involves managing EBOM, supporting localization and homologation, and performing benchmarking and reverse engineering for competitive analysis. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and compliance with ISO 26262 and AEC-Q standards are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Design analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for inverters, OBCs, and DC/DC converters.
Select and size semiconductors (MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC/GaN), drivers, capacitors, magnetics, and protection circuits.
Develop schematics, perform simulations (SPICE, LTSpice, PLECS), and support PCB layout for EMI/EMC, thermal, and automotive compliance.
Prepare EBOM and drive localization of components in alignment with sourcing strategies.
Perform design benchmarking and reverse engineering for competitive analysis.
Create and execute test plans for bring-up, validation, and performance verification.
Conduct hardware testing and benchmarking of inverters, OBCs, and DC/DC converters.
Support ISO 26262 functional safety and DFMEA activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, systems) for integration and manufacturability.
Participate in design/gate reviews and customer technical discussions.
Ensure compliance with AEC-Q, ISO 16750, CISPR 25, ISO 26262, and APQP/PPAP documentation requirements.
Support homologation activities and ensure compliance with regional regulatory requirements.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of power electronics (DC/DC, motor drive inverters, OBC).
Proficiency in schematic capture (Altium, OrCAD, Mentor Graphics) and simulation tools (LTspice, PLECS, MATLAB-Simulink).
Expertise in EMI/EMC design, thermal management, and safety-critical hardware.
Familiarity with ISO 26262, IATF 16949, APQP.
Hands-on debugging with oscilloscopes, power analysers, and lab instruments.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
