Job Title - HVDC Engineer ( High Voltage Power Designs )
Experience: 4-12 years
Educational Qualifications: B.E/ B Tech in Electrical, Electronics/Instrumentation and Equivalent Streams, M Tech in Power Electronics (preferred),
PhD in Power Electronics domain, min 70% in all levels of education
Preferred Industry - Automotive industry , Aerospace industry , Industry and power station , Engineering and technology service
Location: Pune - Akrudi
Key Responsibilities
Design and Development:
Lead the design and development of high-voltage motor control units (MCUs) and DC-DC converters for electric vehicles (EVs).
Develop and optimize power electronics circuits, including inverters, converters, and power stages.
Design multi-layer PCBs and ensure optimized routing, thermal dissipation, and compliance with safety standards.
Ensure robust design of power electronic systems, including gate driver circuits, dead-time control, and protection mechanisms.
System Optimization and Validation:
Perform detailed stability analysis, transient response testing, and loop compensation for closed-loop converters.
Optimize power density, efficiency, and thermal management in power systems.
Conduct rigorous testing, including performance characterization, thermal analysis, and efficiency validation.
Use high-end lab equipment like oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and thermal cameras for debugging and validation.
Compliance and Standards:
Ensure compliance with relevant automotive and functional safety standards (ISO 26262, CISPR, etc.).
Perform EMI/EMC testing and ensure designs meet automotive-grade reliability requirements.
Conduct Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Worst-Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA), and Hardware Safety Analysis (HASA).
Collaboration and Cross-Functional Coordination:
Collaborate with mechanical engineers for enclosure design and system integration.
Work closely with PCB layout engineers to integrate power and control circuits.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (software, hardware, testing) for end-to-end product development.
Leadership and Mentorship:
Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance and technical expertise.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
Encourage knowledge sharing and intellectual property generation within the department.
Innovation and Cost Optimization:
Drive innovation in power electronics technologies and propose new design approaches.
Identify opportunities for cost optimization, performance improvements, and process enhancements.
Promote cost-effective and energy-efficient solutions while maintaining system reliability.
Project Management:
Manage R&D projects from concept to prototype, ensuring timelines, cost targets, and quality standards are met.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including design calculations, test reports, and design specifications.
Leadership and Team Management:
Leads, mentors, and inspires a team of engineers to foster collaboration and high performance.
Communication Skills:
Effectively communicates technical concepts and project updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:
Proactively identifies challenges and makes data-driven decisions to resolve issues and drive project success.
Collaboration and Cross-Functional Teamwork:
Works seamlessly with cross-functional teams to develop integrated and optimized solutions
