From Components to Diagnostics: Understanding EV Systems Through Testing
One of the most valuable aspects of working with electrified vehicle systems is learning how to move beyond component identification and into diagnostic analysis.
Recently, I had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience using diagnostic and measurement tools while working with high-voltage EV systems.
Key areas of learning included:
📊 Interpreting electrical signals and waveforms using diagnostic equipment
⚡ Measuring and verifying electrical parameters within high-voltage systems
🔋 Understanding battery pack architecture and component interactions
🔧 Applying a structured approach to electrical fault finding and system validation
📖 Using technical information and diagnostic procedures to support troubleshooting activities
Working with both physical vehicle systems and diagnostic data has further strengthened my interest in vehicle testing, validation engineering, battery systems and power electronics.
I am currently seeking opportunities within automotive testing, validation, EV systems and electrified powertrain engineering.
